What have I been up to lately?

Posted on February 6, 2023February 6, 2023 by admin

It’s been a few months since my last post, so I felt it would be useful for all my fans out there (hi Mom!) to sketch a few of the projects I have been involved in lately:

  • Ongoing freelance training as an Amazon Authorized Instructor (AAI), particularly teaching a string of Architecting on AWS classes but working on several others for Q1-Q2 2023;
  • Continuing to work with David Castillo on IoT Foundations class, in particular creating new examples using the Bosch XDK 110 and focusing on AWS Greengrass and Amazon QuickSight;
  • Investigating and developing preliminary work on Automatic Demand Response (ADR), including OpenADR using OpenLEADR;
  • Continuing to consult on Fire Training and simulations through my involvement with my prior company, SimsUshare
  • Exploring the creation of a new, B2C business;
  • Expanding my knowledge of Python; and,
  • Like most, exploring ChatGPT.

  • I'm always interested in learning new things about serverless and AWS, so in one of the modules I was teaching about Elastic File System (EFS), I thought it'd be kind of cool to go through the process of mounting a file share that is accessible from Lambda. I found an AWS article about this from
